The organisation needed to modernise business-critical applications built on a complex IDMS mainframe estate. The challenge extended well beyond code conversion: legacy behaviour had to be understood precisely, translated into a SQL-based target environment and rigorously tested to ensure functional integrity. The programme also required scarce expertise spanning both the source and target technologies to reduce risk at each stage of delivery.
